The Foundation was established to raise monies for charitable, civic,
educational and social projects that support our neighborhood. Since
1993, the Foundation has awarded more than $75,000 in college
scholarships to 120 local high school seniors and it has enabled us to
donate an additional $100,000 to well-deserving local organizations
including the Hyde Park Food Pantry, the Hyde Park YMCA, the
Hyde Park Municipal Building, the Riverside Theatre Works, and
many youth sports organizations.

The structure of the Foundation accomplishes two important purposes
to promote contributions through the use of the Foundation's tax-
deductible provision and to provide for a separate entity, which can
focus on raising and distributing funds.

In 1993 the Hyde Park Cooperative Charitable Foundation was
established within Section 501 (c) (3) non profit tax exempt status of
the Internal Revenue Service Code.This Foundation was established
as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Commonwealth Cooperative Bank.
